Support Meetings

Monthly Support Meetings

These meetings are open to mothers or fathers who have lost children to adoption, who may be feeling emotional, stuck, confused or angry and need to talk with others who are dealing with the same difficulties. No-one needs to struggle with re-union alone, and the meetings aim to provide support to parents in a safe, non-judgmental environment, to provide information relevant to adoption issues, and to link people with others who may be able to give on-going help.

The issues dealt with at the meetings include; The adopted personís experience; Dealing with anger; The natural motherís perspective; The natural fatherís perspective; The adoptive family; Adoption legislation; Making contact; Outcomes of contact; Relationships with family members; Maintaining a relationship with the now-adult adult adopted child; Guilt and shame; Confidence building; Self-esteem; Moving on from Mourning.
